Accessibility
Preliminary Statement
Welcome to the Cie Luxe website (the "Site"). If you are having trouble accessing or using this Site, please contact a Cie Luxe representative by calling 760-827-1400 or emailing shop@cieluxe.com. Please read our terms of use carefully before using this Site. The purpose of this Site is to provide you with information about Cie Luxe Brands, our products, the campaigns that we support and the activities we undertake. In addition, you may be able to purchase products and services through this Site.
Just as you might ask for help in a physical retail brand space (at a tradeshow, street fair, in a brand retail store or a brand experience pop-up), visitors to this Site may need additional information about a brand or product beyond what is available here. Visitors may also need assistance locating a product or have questions before making a purchase through this Site. While this Site provides product information, it cannot fully convey a brand’s intent or replicate the experience of holding or testing a product in person.
For this reason, our knowledgeable customer service team and product experts are available to help. Our contact information is provided at the bottom of every page of this Site, and you may reach us by phone at 760-827-1400 or by email at shop@cieluxe.com.
Cie Luxe Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") Accessibility Commitment Statement
Cie Luxe is committed to providing a Site that is accessible to all visitors and compliant with accessibility guidelines. We are continually making improvements to meet these guidelines, and the Site has been designed with accessibility in mind
Navigating This Site with Screen Reading Softwares & Other Tools/Resources
This Site, without the aid of any apps or widgets, is coded & has been tested to work with these standard screen reading softwares: JAWS for a Mac operating system (click Ctrl + F5), NVDA for a Windows operating system (download here), and ChromeVOX for a Google ChromeBook operating system (click Ctrl + Alt + Z).
A specified statement from Cie Luxe on NVDA software: Cie Luxe has tested our website to ensure the code operates with NonVisual Desktop Access (NVDA) software. NVDA is a free, open-source screen reader for Microsoft Windows that enables people who are blind or have low vision to use computers. You can click here to download the NVDA software.
If you are using a web browser on a Linux operating system or if you do not wish to use the previously mentioned screen reading softwares, this Site includes an app that can help guide you. The app's icon is located in the top left corner of every page of this Site. To start the app, click the icon. If you can not visually identify the app's icon you will need to refresh the page you are on, "click tab" on your keyboard once to rest on the icon, and then "click enter" on your keyboard to open it. Always remember to reach out to our customer service if you need further assistance via phone at 760-827-1400 or via email at shop@cieluxe.com.
Recently, ZDNET, Sybill AI & Audio Eye have reported that the best AI-powered screen reader for websites is generally recognized to be a combination of robust traditional software (JAWS, NVDA) enhanced with modern, intelligent AI text-to-speech tools like Speechify or NaturalReader. These tools use AI to provide natural-sounding voices, fast, efficient reading, and improved accessibility, with Speechify being highly rated for its versatility across devices.
Additional resources for visually impaired individuals navigating e-commerce websites are primarily organized through national networks with local state affiliates, vocational rehabilitation agencies, and specialized technology training centers. These services help with screen reader compatibility, screen magnification, and voice-activated shopping. You can find further assistance available to you by searching the internet for: "state by state resources for visually impaired navigation of e-commerce websites".
Cie Luxe Web Design Statement
This Site is a living digital asset that experiences regular updates. Updates to this Site’s platform and changes to web browser versions - both of which are outside of Cie Luxe’s control - require work to maintain basic functionality and accessibility. Cie Luxe also cannot design the Site to accommodate the individual settings of each visitor’s computer or device.
During periods when updates are being made, access to all features of this Site cannot be guaranteed. Cie Luxe completes necesarry changes to the design of this Site as quickly as possible, and our customer service team is available to provide increased assistance to visitors during these times. From time to time, the Site’s platform may experience technical difficulties, and we maintain close working relationships with representatives who can prioritize the prompt restoration of services for Cie Luxe.
What about abilities other than the blind and visually impaired? Cie Luxe does not solely cater to visitors who are visually impaired. Cie Luxe has taken additional measures to "fill the gaps" to include a more comfortable experience for visitors who may have a learning disability, neurological disorder/impairment, or are of an older generation who may be less comfortable navigating a website.
Not all website designs are intuitive for every visitor and not all visitors have the same ability to navigate all websites. Cie Luxe has taken care to install and set up the ACCESSpro app to assist every visitor. We gladly look for design solutions that satisfy requests from our loyal customers, and we are pleased to assist any visitor who calls or emails us for assistance.
Further notes on coding for accessibility: [1] We are currently waiting for an update, and until it is available we have added ARIA code to a "section" or "<span>" describing its contents in full, as opposed to adding the ARIA to the individual elements of the "section". The ARIA code explains to a visitor using a screen reader that the next "section" on the page has all the details broken down into individually readable elements for them. [2] One of our most frequent requests from visitors about shipping is "how long before you ship an item & what is the average shipping time for an item". Because of this, we included a short sentence in the footer of our website to show up on every web page. No matter how we structured the code, the sentence, and the ARIA tags this line of copy in the footer weakened our ADA Compliance score. When we have finalized the best way to include this information we will put it back where we have promised our visitors can easily find it. [3] The theme we use for our website adjusts for iPhones, tablets and laptop/desktop screens. For this reason, the code "hides" elements that are irrelevant while being viewed on a desktop computer or a laptop. This lowers our ADA Compliance score, even though the elements hidden are hidden to both sighted and visually impaired visitors for practical purposes. Additionally, we include "notes" to our Business to Business Wholesale Representative, Operations Representative and Warehouse Manager that blend in with the white background color of the website. These notes are not for visitors to our website, these are notes for employees and retail partners that we use internally for Business to Business Wholesale reasons, and more. [4] There are instances where our ADA Compliance score is negatively affected because the same hyperlink occurs twice in close proximity. We add hyperlinks to images and buttons, which may be in close proximity, because we cater to a demographic that is below 30 years old who prefers to click on an image as well as to a demographic that is over 50 years old who prefers to click on a button. Adding a hyperlink to an image as well as a button is the best way for us to code our website for our visitors, specifically. We have currently disabled this feature, and we will add it back as soon as we receive another request from a loyal visitor.
About Our Website Platform's Americans with Disabilities Act ("ADA") Compliance
We use Shopify as a website platform. Shopify’s standard checkout is designed to be accessible for users with visual impairments and supports assistive technologies like screen readers. It is built to meet WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines) standards, ensuring features like keyboard navigation and proper form field labeling. You can learn more about Shopify's WCAG, Level A & Level AA compliance on their website. Key aspects of Shopify's checkout accessibility include:
• Screen Reader & Keyboard Compatibility: The checkout process enables navigation and completion without a mouse
• High Completion Rates: Recent tests showed a 100% completion rate for users with assistive technologies
• Accessible Components: Components are designed with input from people with disabilities.
Cie Luxe does not use custom apps or third-party modifications to disrupt Shopify's robust accessibility functions of the checkout process. Cie Luxe does personally modify the code of the templates for the home page, general page, collection page, product page, search page and cart page of the website to ensure the experience of a visually impaired or blind visitor is as similar as possible to a sighted visitor. Cie Luxe has installed ACCESSpro, an accessibility app to further aid visitors of all abilities, ADA Accessibility ACCESSpro, built for Shopify.

MailChimp and Accessibility
In 2025 MailChimp began offering a new popup builder —developed using technology acquired from Amped — the new design offers significant improvements in accessibility, responsiveness, and user experience compared to the older, more static popups. The new, mobile-first, drag-and-drop editor focuses on reducing friction for users across devices and allows Cie Luxe to add alt text to the popup.
Cie Luxe Theme and Font Choice Statement
Not all website designs are intuitive for every visitor and not all visitors have the same ability to navigate all websites. Cie Luxe has taken care to choose a website theme from Shopify that will allow us to present our large assortment of products in a visually appealing way - and in a way that is not in conflict with the individual retail brand's copyright, trademark and brand culture guidelines. This site, at times, can present as many as 800+ individual SKUs, and this has heavily impacted our theme and design choices. We have also carefully chosen a website theme that can be read by screen reader softwares and a font that is easy to read for sighted visitors:
Cie Luxe uses the Amiri font for this website. Amiri is considered highly legible and easy to read. It is a classic typeface in the Naskh style, designed to be used for books and running text or paragraphs.
• High Legibility: Even at small sizes, Amiri is noted for its clear, well-crafted characters, making it suitable for both headlines and body text.
• Traditional Style: It is a revival of a 20th-century Bulaq Press typeface, designed to feel natural and comfortable for long-form reading.
• Elegant & Classical: It is described as "simplistically elegant," balancing traditional Arabic calligraphy with modern clarity.
For visitors who may have a learning disability, neurological disorder/impairment, or other cognitive challenges, we recommend using the ACCESSpro app installed on this Site. With this app, the font can be adjusted and even replaced, in its entirety, for ease of accessibility.
We will continue to improve on our website's accessibility as technology improves or as studies disclose better design options to pursue. If you have found an inaccessible area on the site, please assist our team by informing us of the issue via email at shop@cieluxe.com or by phone at 760-827-1400.
